KDI is a research partner on the Why We Disagree About Resilience (WhyDAR) project, led by Kings College London. WhyDAR aims to investigate the diversity of perspectives that exist on urban resilience, paying particular attention to the roles of science and technology and their implications for resilience planning.

The project partners used qualitative GIS and creative practices to explore new ways of mapping and visualizing resilience in Nairobi, Cape Town and Manilla. In 2016 and 2017 KDI facilitated community and government workshops in Nairobi and took part in the London and Manilla Planning and Implementation Sorkshops.
